Share Your Motorcycle Skills: Become a New Hampshire Motorcycle Safety Course Instructor

There are three levels of motorcycle safety courses in New Hampshire for bikers who want to learn how to protect themselves and avoid the many common types of injury-causing motorcycle accidents. For experienced bikers, however, there’s another way to learn about motorcycle riding while also encouraging the next generation of bikers to stay safe: by becoming a New Hampshire motorcycle safety course instructor.

According to the New Hampshire Division of Motor Vehicles, any New Hampshire motorcyclist can become a safety course instructor as long as he or she meets the following requirements:

  • Have a New Hampshire motorcycle license or endorsement for at least three years;
  • Have experience riding a motorcycle;
  • Have 3 or fewer moving violations within the past 3 years;
  • Have zero alcohol-related convictions; and
  • Have successfully passed New Hampshire’s Basic Motorcycle Safety Course.

Riders who have passed the New Hampshire Intermediate and Advanced Motorcycle Safety Courses will likely have developed additional skills and experience that can be passed on to students by becoming course instructors. However, passing these courses is not required to teach motorcycle safety in New Hampshire.
