Residential Home Defects
Our client, a husband and wife, moved to NH to build their dream retirement home in a lovely New England suburb. The contractor hired many subcontractors with limited experience in residential construction and whose workmanship was substandard and in numerous cases, contrary to local building codes. After filing suit and attaching the contractor and subcontractor’s properties, a voluntary settlement was reached, which compensated our clients for the aggravation associated with the defective construction, and pain for a new contractor to perform all of the necessary repairs and complete their retirement home.
Disgruntled Homeowner Sues Contractor
Our client, a residential construction general contractor, was sued by a homeowner who alleged that the home they contracted and paid for contained numerous defects and violations of the BOCA Code. We successfully defended the litigation after demonstrating that no local building code had been adopted, and that the construction as performed complied with reasonable building practices in the community.
Zoning Board Appeal
Our clients, a husband and wife, sought an area variance to construct a large single family dwelling. After initially receiving approval, the local board of selectmen objected and moved for reconsideration. After hearings, the Zoning Board denied the Board of Selectmen’s Motion for Reconsideration and approved the variance.
